The Destination

Similan and Surin Marine Park, Thailand

The Similan and Surin Islands lie in the Andaman Sea, off Thailand’s west coast, and are among the finest dive destinations in Southeast Asia.

The Similan Islands were originally a group of nine islands, named from the local Yawi word for "nine." In 1998, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai were added to the national park. Nearby, the Surin Islands form a chain of five islands within Mu Koh Surin National Park — also home to the Moken, or "Sea Gypsy" community. Both archipelagos are protected marine parks, covering 140 sq. km each, with over 75% ocean.

Known for stunning coral reefs, granite formations, and clear waters, the Similan and Surin Islands offer some of Thailand’s most pristine and diverse dive sites — where turquoise waters and thriving marine life create an unforgettable underwater experience.

Founder's Note

Nishi DAQ.jpg

Hello, I am Nishi and I’m a SCUBA diver, freediver, and entrepreneur. I used to be a data scientist but the call of Mother Ocean is bigger than us all. Few key life events and hours of introspection led me to quit the corporate world and I found myself sitting on the beach with a life jacket (yes, I did not know how to swim back then)! Over the last few years I’ve been grateful to have the opportunity to launch and grow our Maldives vertical, Mad over Maldives. Me and my team are humbled by the love and support we’ve received from our wonderful customers. Oceaon is now expanding boundaries and I am elated to host you in iconic dive destinations across the world.
